Radio presenter, television personality, author, and actor Anele Mdoda has bagged a cooking gig with Mzansi Magic channel 161.

The show is proudly sponsored by Woolworths and the store has teamed up with a number of our favourite ZAlebs to compete against each other in the ultimate winter cook off.

The Lazy Makoti’s Guide to the Kitchen author Mogau Seshoene, fondly known as The Lazy Makoti will be leading the other team with Bring Back My Smile’s presenter Kayise Ngqula.

The other team will be led by Youtuber Mpoomy Ledwaba and Food Stylist Keletso Motau. Their job will be to show viewers how easy it is to make meals this winter especially with everything that is happening in the country.

Taking to Instagram to announce the once off cooking special, Kayise said, “Winter chills are synonymous with delicious comfort dishes and we’ve got all you’ll ever need to turn your kitchen into cooking paradise 🍽 coming to your TV 📺 screens in the Woolies Winter CookOff hosted by the incredible @zintathu this Saturday 17 July 2021 at 6pm on @mzansimagic”

The Lazy Makoti told taste that, “People can expect lots of delicious food, plus quick and easy tips on how to elevate your winter menu and take it from simple to unforgettable…Think warm curries, decadent sticky puddings, hearty soups and delicious stews. Everything is indulgent and comforting. People can expect lots of delicious food, plus quick and easy tips on how to elevate your winter menu and take it from simple to unforgettable. This will be the best winter yet.”

The team leaders are tasked with showing viewers how easy it is to create easy and delicious winter dishes.

Trending SA’s current creative lead recently opened up about the treatment she received from the producers of Anele Mdoda’s talk show, Real Talk with Anele.

Taking to Twitter to detail her ordeal, Sive “Black Rose” Nkukwana said, “The way I was mistreated when I worked on Real Talk, I vowed to treat people who work with/under my lead with compassion and empathy. Everyone must feel seen and heard. I make sure I elevate and uplift the good side of my team. I make sure they know how important their role is.”

Sive’s sentiments did not fall on deaf ears as tweeps came out with their own stories on the abuse that creatives suffer in TV Production.

Sive also said her passion carried her and the host of the show, Anele Mdoda. She said that Real Talk was her dream job at the time, “I was a guest and by the time I left their studios, I knew I wanted to work there. I’d just left craz-e (career highlight) so Real Talk felt like a graduation of some sort”

Viewers can catch the cooking special on Mzansi Magic, channel 161 on 17 July at 6pm. It will also air on Honey (DStv channel 173) on 19 July 2021 at 8 pm.
