Boity Launches Her Own Fragrance – Boity Pink Sapphire
South African media personality, Boity Thulo’s new project is finally out of the bag, the star is expanding her business footprint with a new addition to her growing empire.
Boity has teamed up with Halo Heritage the new leading creators of luxurious natural haircare and fine fragrances for an iconic brand and celebrity partnership that is guaranteed to generate buzz.
For their first official product launch, Halo Heritage is setting quite the benchmark, solidifying their place as innovators and pioneers in the local luxury beauty sphere with the launch of Boity Pink Sapphire — a proudly South African, premium, first-of-its-kind Eau de parfum developed in collaboration with actress, musician, entrepreneur and style star Boity Thulo.
Pink Sapphire is best described as an ode to powerful, modern, African queens, making Boity most fitting in her role as partner and muse.
“When I met Boity for the first time and hugged her, her energy and essence felt ‘pink’, like the colour of love”, explains Inge Peacock, CEO of Halo Heritage.
“Pink Sapphire embodies her bubbly and joyous personality — she’s elegant yet approachable, down-to-earth but sophisticated. Together, we created a signature scent that’s fit for the sensual, feminine, multifaceted woman who is in charge of her destiny”, and there could not have been a far better brand alignment, as creating a fragrance has been a lifelong dream of Boity’s.
“When the opportunity came about, I couldn’t say no. With my previous experience co-creating body perfumes, I considered this as the sensible next step that would give consumers broader insight into what I can offer as a businesswoman. After turning 30, I wanted to work on a fragrance geared towards a more mature audience, so in many ways, this collaboration was perfect timing.”
Pink Sapphire from Boity exudes charismatic poetic alchemy, with an unforgettable balance of floral and mineral notes that align sensuality with strength, heart with mind, and past with future.
For this fragrance, Halo Heritage and Boity worked closely with French perfumer, Emilie Bouge, who brings over 22 years of experience in the art of perfumery.
The idea for the fragrance was to create a contrast between sweetness and strength, balancing Boity’s soft sensuality with her power and capturing the duality of women in its unique blend.
According to Boity, “It’s a powerful but elegant fragrance. The top notes that you smell at first are the sugar, the fresh tangerine and wild marigold. After a few moments, you’ll smell the amber, jasmine, and French lavender and finally, the heavier base notes of ambroxan, moss and cedarwood bring that incredible depth – they balance out the sweeter notes perfectly. I just love it!”.
For the bottle’s vibrant, multifaceted jewel shape and packaging, Boity felt that the colour turquoise perfectly encapsulated the serenity and sensuality that Pink Sapphire represents.
The fragrance’s icon and embellished chain detail also hold quirky symbolism, an accent that she reveals, “is inspired by a necklace I wear often and one that people always spot on me. This was a way to add a personal touch and an emotional connection to the overall design.”
