South African world champion Caster Semenya has taken to social media to reveal that she and her partner are expecting baby no 2. She shared the news on social media to warm messages of congratulations from her followers.
“Ten little fingers, ten little toes. With love and grace, our family grows. This precious soul that God decided to bless us with. We all can’t wait to meet YOU,” posted Semenya.
“Congratulations… Eish lenna keyabatla mara kerata Beeya. I’m so happy for you,” said television personality Nomsa Diva.
In June, the Olympic gold medalist and 800m world-record holder celebrated her daughter’s birthday. Caster took to Instagram to mark the cute Oratile Semenya’s second birthday. The champion and her wife Violet Raseboya don’t often share much about their private life. This is why everyone gets excited when they hear from the couple. “Today marks her 2nd birthday. A day to be remembered forever” posted Caster.
In September 2020, The Double 800m champion lost her Swiss Court Appeal. This came after her long battle to compete at the Federal Supreme Court of Switzerland. The Swiss body upheld its position to deny Caster the opportunity to compete unless she takes hormone suppressing drugs. Sharing her disappointment on social media, the world champion revealed that all was not lost.
“Chills my people, A man can change the rules but the very same man can not rule my life, What I’m saying is that I might have failed against them the truth is that I have won this battle long ago, Go back to my achievements then you will understand. Doors might be closed not locked.”
In a video interview, Caster Semenya revealed how disappointed she was. “I am very disappointed. I refuse to let World Athletics drug me or stop me from being who I am. Excluding female athletes or endangering our health solely because of our natural abilities puts World Athletics on the wrong side of history. I will continue to fight for the human rights of female athletes, both on the track and off the track, until we can all run free the way we were born.” She continued.
“I know that the IAAF’s regulations have always targeted me specifically. For a decade, the IAAF has tried to slow me down, but this has actually made me stronger.”
