EntleD Fired For Taking Time Off After Rape Ordeal

Former Tv presenter EntleD trended a few years ago following a heartbreaking incident where a man raped her after sneaking into her apartment. While that incident alone was enough to scar her for life, she was fired from the job she was working at, at the time by her female bosses as a result of that.

Detailing the events around the traumatic ordeal, EntleD had just come home and had passed an unknown gentleman who was standing at the entrance of the gate of her apartment building. Because apartment building have such high volumes of people going in and out, she didn’t think much of it.

She was living with a roommate at the time with whom she shared a bed and while they were laying in bed, her roommate got a phone call and left while Entle was asleep. And as mentioned above, she was woken up by the perpetrator.

“I was dreaming that Chris Brown was coming for me from America. I’ve had the biggest crush on Chris Brown forever and he was coming from America [in the dream] and he was like ‘oh my gosh, I’m so happy to see you and I love you and I want us to go away together’ and then we start making out. And then the clothes come off… In reality, hey! It’s a great dream. I mean it’s Chris Brown but as he penetrates me in the dream, it happens in real life. The actual penetration was what woke me up, only to find the very real threat of a stranger raping me. The fact that I dreamt I was having sex with Chris Brown was God giving me a sign because the rapist also looked like Chris Brown!”

At the time she was the marketing manager working for their television network and she wanted a break to deal with the after effects and heal.

“I was hurt. I asked for a time out which took longer than I had anticipated. I even had my counselor give them a call and explain the situation. They accepted that I needed a time out because I heard I was suffering from a delayed reaction. I was so traumatized that I began seeing the guy everywhere. He wasn’t really there obviously… I almost crashed my car because I saw him in my rearview mirror, in the car next to me, in the lift, everywhere…”

Instead of giving her the space and time to deal with the trauma, they used it against her.

“I needed to heal and because it’s hard to come back from something like that, l took longer than l had intended. The two gave me the reason that they were firing me because I had gone AWOL and l was not performing.”

To her credit EntleD is not bitter about the experience because she managed to find God through it all.

“I’ve become a woman of God and I understand my prophetic mantle so much more because of it. My biggest takeaway from all of this is that there literally is God everywhere. It’s either you get it or you don’t.”

She is now using her experience and knowledge to help other rape survivors.

“I am now doing okay. I have healed from the sexual incident. I hold facilitation sessions. I help sexually abused victims come to terms with their sexual incidences. Companies also hire me to speak. The healing process involves the use of God’s word, dialogue and prayer.”
