It’s A Special Day For Cornet

Today is a special day for Skeem Saam star Cornet Mamabolo who stars as Thabo Maputla on the SABC 1 drama. The Limpopo-born superstar turns 31-years-old today.

Reflecting on how far he’s come, Mamabolo said that he appreciates the man that he has become. “It is the PROCESS for me that I appreciate the most … my own personal journey is what I look forward to. I love what this man has become & continues to be.” He said.

“To me, it has always been about building a bankable brand, generational wealth, impacting lives in the most extraordinary way & using the gift from God to make the livelihoods of others even better.” He continued.

“It remains my prayer from Me To God that he gives me more wisdom to explore my Gift & le gore ke e berekise ka lerato go batho. Mzanzi Modimo le Badimo ba nkgaogetse, ba mpontshitse lerato le matla a bona. Ka nnete ke wa mahlatse.
“YESSS… one day will make sense, I’m taking it one step at a time. It’s an unstoppable train, this thing … I love you!!!”

His childhood friend and Skeem Saam co-star Clement Maosa also took some time to pen his buddy a heartfelt birthday message. “Happy birthday ma boi… when coming to Jhb we were young and just kids who were determined to follow their dreams and stand out, I always say “we haven’t paid 5 tollgates just to play” and I am glad we haven’t dropped the ball.” He said.

“It was a very tough journey because as villagers in this industry we always had to prove ourselves beyond what’s normally acceptable to get recognition. Transitioning from arts to corporate was another brave move I learned from you. 10years later it only makes sense and I know there is still so much more to offer.”

Wishing Clement well, Maosa said that he must continue to nurture his God-given talent. He added that he is grateful for Cornet’s mother who always reminds them to cherish their brotherhood.

“Embrace growth and continue knowing that we are for the people as prophesied before we even got our breakthrough in the industry, continue maturing and naturing your gift. I’m grateful to your mom who always reminds me that we are brothers and should always look out for one another and for our families to understand our journey because somehow they too lost the privilege of spending most times with us but borrowing us to the world. Gola samma, Gola… I’m actually excited about what you are about to offer in the near future! HAPPY BIRTHDAY” Said the Skeem Saam lead actor.
