Lady Du Apologises After Passing Out

Amapiano vocalist, Lady Du has been finding it hard to deal with the passing of her friends, Killer Kau and Mpura. Anyone who follows her on social media can attest to this as she’s opened up about how everything has been affecting her and even brought up old wounds. Earlier this week, she passed out at a gig. Apologizing to her fans, she said that she tried to keep it together but couldn’t. She doesn’t know how she’ll be able to perform Msebenzi Wethu ever again.

“To the fans that saw me pass out last night, I apologise, I tried soooo hard to be strong, I tried to keep it together. I thought I’d be able to handle that last gig, But I broke down, I don’t know how I’ll ever perform msebenzi wethu. I’m taking some time off! Thank you,” she posted.

Taking to IG Live following the untimely deaths of her Amapiano co-stars reminded her followers not even celebrities are immune to the harsh reality of death. Killer and Mpura were very close to her – they were like her brothers.

“I don’t think I wanted to even do this, but I feel like I want to do it There are things that I think a lot of people need to understand and that is we are not celebrities when we lose our brothers. We are not celebrities when we are in pain. Nobody can ever handle the pain of losing people that they care about. People that have helped them grow in every way possible.”

Confused and heartbroken, Lady Du added that she had never felt so weak in her entire life. “I don’t understand. I’m confused. I don’t know what is going on. I don’t know how to feel. But guys, please understand that with me – I’m not a celebrity when it comes to losing people that I care about. I’ve never been and felt so weak in my life.”

She pleaded with everyone to be sensitive and mindful to those who are mourning and remind everyone to keep praying. “Killer Kau and Mpura touched me in a way that nobody else has ever touched me and I don’t expect anybody to understand that. That is for me to understand. So when we lose people, stop calling us and asking us what is going on. Stop asking what happened and just pray. Learn to pray. We’re still young to die in this way. We are young guys. We must pray.” Said the singer in part.

“You can’t even cry in peace. You have people calling you and asking what’s going on. No! Don’t do that. Pray for people. Artists are broken. We are broken as a nation. We are not united and it is days like this that we realise that life is too short. And we need to be there for one another.” She poured her heart out.

“We need to stay strong in everything that we do and we need to pray for one another because we risk our lives to get to events to make people happy. Today we lost our brothers.”
