Lorraine Moropa Details Sexual Harassement On Set By Senior Male

Lithapo actress Lorraine Moropa has taken to Instagram to detail how she is being constantly sexually harassed by a senior male at work.

In a lengthy post the 23-year-old detailed how the male undresses her, by the way, he looks at her and grabs their genitals on set whilst looking at her ass and laughs this off in the presence of colleagues.

“This is a father, who also happens to speak highly of their daughter whom by the way, is practically my age and also in the industry. I wonder if he would appreciate his daughter coming home with half the stories I have to go home and tell my mother due to his actions,” shared the actress.

Being constantly sexually harassed by a male senior at a work place can not and should not be tolerated. Your senior, someone who's meant to guide and protect you in the entertainment industry violates your human rights, that's not even half the pain. Imagine working with someone who undresses you from how he looks at you. Someone that grabs their genitals on a set while looking at your ass or grabs your ass and laughs it off in front of a crew (yes my cases have always been in the presence of my colleagues). That to me is worse than a slap in the face. This is a father, who also happens to speak highly of their daughter whom by the way, is practically my age and also in the industry. I wonder if he would appreciate his daughter coming home with half the stories I have to go home and tell my mother due to his actions. Who fights for our battles as women in the industry? What happens to our image? What happens to our dignity as people in the industry allow such behavior? I for one am SICK AND TIRED. IT ENDS HERE AND NOW FOR ME!!!!! I did not sleep my way into any role and I refuse for my process to get into this industry and cement my name just for it to be tainted by someone who has zero self control or respect for us as professionals in the industry. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

Many Mzansi personalities such as Thuso Mbedu, Anele Mdoda and Masasa Mbangeni took to the comment section to stand in solidarity with the actress to call for action to be taken against the actor.

Actress and YFM DJ Altovise Lawrence, let know that the male actor did the same to her and she believes Lorraine, she also took to her Instagram page to detail that she had been sexually harassed by a senior actor at work.

“I stand in solidarity with @lorrainemoropa who has had the courage to come out and say that she has been sexually harassed by an actor on set. The same man that sexually harassed her has sexually harassed me too on the very same set,” she wrote on Instagram.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela in an update to Masasa’s tweet let know that the matter is being taken seriously by production and measures are being taken.

“I have gotten confirmation of the incidents & subsequent actions. She did report. A warning was issued before,” he tweeted.
