Maphorisa And Kabza Deny Involvement In Human Trafficking Attempt

DJ Maphorisa has warned people of a fake social media post and a possible human trafficking attempt using his and Kabza De Small’s identities.
Amapiano maestros DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small have distanced themselves from a Facebook post, which advertised a music video shoot which would be held in Mozambique. This post seeks to lure young women into a human trafficking syndicate and used their identities to gain traction and ‘credibility’.

Maphorisa alerted fans especially females to not fall for such as they have nothing to do with it. He even said parents have called him six times asking if it is true. “Fake Fake Fake Fake please. Girls don’t even try!!! got 6 calls from parents asking if it’s true “Hell Nahh ” No No No No,” wrote Maphorisa.

The post says the women will be paid R6000, R3000 before departure and R3000 after the music video is shot. Transport, accommodation and clothing will be paid for by the scammers.
Another element which destroys the legitimacy of the post is the ladies are required to have a passport, if the interested ladies do not own one, then the scammers will organise those for them at Home Affairs illegally.

“Kabza da Small and DJ Maphorisa are going to be shooting a video in Mozambique month-end…(We) need ten ladies that have passports, if you don’t a passport I have a guy at home affairs that can make a plan for them,” read the post.

“We’re shooting a music video for a track that hasn’t come out yet…I’ll need sizes for the ladies, heels, sneakers and dress sizes. Every lady is getting paid 6k…3k before we leave and 3k after we return. Flights, accommodation and clothes will all be paid for,” the post stated.

Social media has been shaking at the influx of missing people’s posts and other women sharing their experiences with almost getting human trafficked. This called on many prominent people to lend their voices and raise awareness.

Busiswa wrote, “Don’t park in the underground parking. Don’t go to job interviews. Don’t jog alone. Don’t walk, EVER. Don’t take an Uber or Taxify.Dont ride a taxi or walk at the rank .Don’t go to the police station.Don’t groove without groups. You want to be a woman in South Africa? Just DONT.”
L’Vovo Derrango advised women to be alert and questioned why the government is not doing much about this, “How do all these trafficked people leave the country? No passports or Visas. Do u realize that we are dealing with a much more organized syndicate than we thought?” he questioned.

Rami Chuene slammed Bheki Cele for taking this lightly, “Ndosi should have gracefully declined to return as police minister. He’s drowning. The lack of action on #GBV issues, human trafficking, etc. portray him as one who’s lost touch with the protection of the country and its citizens.”
