Nambitha Mpumlwana To Star In New Drama Series

Television actress Nambitha Mpulwana, won the hearts of many viewers when she bagged the character of Mawande Memela in SABC 1’s hit soapie Generations, and the role turned her into a household name with a legion of fans.

Although her role was short-lived following their dismissal, she bagged another role in Ashes to Ashes which was canned a few years ago. Following this stint, the actress disappeared from our small screens and fans have been wondering what she has been up to. But they will be happy to know that she will be bouncing back soon on our small screen as she has scored a new meaty role.

The talented actress will star in a new SABC1’s new drama series, The Kingdom.
The drama series consists of bible parables and stories about faith, hope, love, and the work of realizing the best version of ourselves.

The series depicts ordinary characters who when faced with seemingly insurmountable struggles discover their power. Nambitha will star as Josephine who is an Angel who lives in a rural African town called The Kingdom. She has been sent to guide six individuals in finding Heaven on earth, through repairing and building relationships and finding purpose and meaning in their lives.

Nmabitha was part of the 16 Generations cast members, who were fired from the show for striking over demand for salary increases. Another actor who recently came back to our small screens is Khaya Dladla.

The actor made his debut in eHostela on Sunday evening and he plays the hardcore character of Nxebalendoda. The show returned back for its second season and it plays on Mzansi Magic. Khaya’s fans took to social media to express their excitement following his debut. Some hailed him for being versatile as he takes on a new role different from the gay character he portrayed on Uzalo.

Khaya’s return on screen was a surprise to many especially after how he left Uzalo when he was reduced to a call actor. Speaking to ZAlebs last year, the actor said he did not process the news that he was leaving the show

“The thing is with me leaving the show, I didn’t process it because I wasn’t told I was leaving the show, so there was no time for me to digest that in the next three months I won’t be on this show because, no one said anything to me about not coming back. Other actors were told that they won’t be coming back but I was not,” he said.
