Nay Maps Thanks Uzalo For Making Him
Nay Maps has taken the time to reflect on his humble beginnings by thanking the show that made him into the actor he currently is.
Paying homage to SABC 1’s Uzalo, he thanked the production for recognizing the young talented actor who had landed his first acting gig.
Nay Maps, real name Nkosinathi Maphalala, first entered our households when he started out as one of the first cast members of the hit telenovela. He played a young spoilt and hard-headed Mxolisi Xulu who was born into the wrong family. Then after that went on to learn his identity.
His departure from the telenovela was not in vain as he promised to do even bigger things and land on equally popular TV productions, because of the talent he possesses.
On Instagram he started his thank you post with, “Don’t Forget Where You Come From….. And Remember WHO YOU ARE!” He then went on to thank not only the production members but the cast as well for pushing him even though he was a newcomer in the industry.
“To the TV Show that put me on……that believed in me….. And trusted me with a LEAD ROLE to portray the character of a young good kid named Mxolisi from Kwa-Mashu KZN who grew up in Jhb and returns to his family and discovers the truth about his past – @uzalo_sabc1.
“I’ll forever be grateful for the chance and opportunity you gave to a kid you never knew, a passionate, ambitious and dedicated youngster and newcomer in the industry,” he wrote.
His current role continues to make him a household name as he has joined Mzansi Magic’s The Queen as ‘Dingane Khoza.’
He has been involved in other productions mostly in Mzansi Magice namely Impilo – The Scam, which is a 13-part series where he plays the character of Pacino. As well as a ‘small role’ on Isibaya playing the character of Tshepo.
Nay Maps still has a lot up his sleeves and has plans of shooting a lot of block buster movies.
