Nomzamo Mbatha & Bonang Are Silenced By MEC

It’s been a busy week for a lot of Mzansi celebrities, especially Nomzamo Mbatha, who did a great job at the finale of Miss South Africa 2020 but also got called-out by MEC Faith Mazibuko for her fake activism when it comes to human trafficking.

Bonang Matheba was also called-out by the MEC for the same reasons, all this drama is somehow linked to a police-organised raid at a popular nightclub in Sandton.

It started off with Nomzamo Mbatha sharing her frustrations about the National Police Minister Bheki Cele and co. raiding a high-end nightclub in Sandton, instead of them fighting the scourge of gender-based violence and human trafficking that is gripping the country.

“They know how to find and shut down clubs but fail to nail human trafficking rings that slaughter women and children on a daily.
Make me numb, Nelson.”

Faith Mazibuko responded with a sarcastic Tweet that seemed to call out Nomzamo and her double-standards around this sensitive issue.

“Who would’ve thought that a raid at Blackdoor would ignite advocacy against human trafficking? Especially from S. Africans with a huge social media following, which would be useful in fighting the scourge of GBV.

Police must raid these clubs frequently, we need these voices.”

Bonang, who also thought she was exposing the Police for being useless when it comes to human trafficking and gender-based violence, got equally owned by the feisty MEC with her sarcastic Tweets. Bonang Tweeted;

“….please keep this energy for gender based violence.”

To which Faith Mazibuko coyly responded;

“Police must raid more of these elite clubs. I like what I see on twitter today.

The consistent voices against GBVF have been augmented by voices of young women with millions of followers on social media. The message against GBVF has reached many because of a raid at Blackdoor.”

It seems as though Bonang was having the time of her life at the club on the evening prior to the raid and she might have escaped during the commotion or left early before police arrived.

According to a Tweep, the nightclub is owned by Bonang and Boity’s rich “friends”, which might explain why Bheki Cele and the Gauteng MEC decided to target that specific club in the first place.

Needless to say, it was a successful night for the South African Police Services, who confiscated thousands of expensive alcohol and for the party-goers who left the club without paying their expensive bills because of the raid. The owners, however, have lost a lot of money in just one night of not following lockdown rules.
