Gospel singer Hlengiwe Mhlaba admits she’s baffled by her own voice. The KZN musician believes her singing style is incomparable.

“My voice is unique. I myself, I don’t understand it,” she said.Hlengiwe, known for her hit Dwala lami, never mimicked others in her singing journey.

“I’m appealing to Christians to support gospel music emotionally and spiritually,” she urged.

Well-known South African singer, songwriter, and record producer, King Monada will face the music over a fee refund issue in court.

Khutso Steven Kgatla, aka King Monada, has been in a dispute with Limpopo Legends Awards organizer Mphoza Mashabela for allegedly refusing to pay back booking fees for the awards ceremony despite twice not pitching.

 

 

 

 
King Monada and Mphoza are to appear in the Ritavi magistrate’s court in Nkowankowa, Tzaneen, on September 2.Mphoza told the publication he doesn’t want to disclose much information.

“This is a straight forward matter because I paid him and [he] never pitched. I then gave him a second chance and [he] still didn’t pitch so he left me with no choice but to go to court and demand my money from him. What this guy did to me broke my heart as my reputation as an organizer was tainted by his unprofessionalism.“He isn’t my enemy, I just want my money back. I can no longer chase him because I need to clear my name of the madness he created by not pitching at the ceremony. That’s not how we do business and I have fans who attend my events including the Limpopo Legends Awards. I’m happy the court date is here. I’ll meet him in court.”

The publication has approached King Monada for comment. Any update will be included once received.

Earlier this year the publication received a copy of King Monada’s notice of intention to defend himself against the letter of demand.

Earlier this month Mihlali shot up trends lists after she shared images of bruises on her forehead, lips, and under her eye on her Instagram Story, writing “Thank you my angel Leeroy” before deleting the posts.Leeroy later released a statement refuting claims of being abusive towards Mihlali, claiming she sustained the bruises when he pushed her away after her attempt to stab him.

 

 

 

On Monday, Mihlali shared an open letter saying the matter that came to public light had “deeply” affected her and her business.

It is with great vulnerability I admit I was involved in a toxic relationship. This relationship started off verbally and emotionally harmful and matters quickly escalated to it being physically harmful.

Popular Mzansi singer and dancer Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane left fans and a venue owner fuming after failing to make an appearance at a scheduled event at Amigo’s Bar and Grill in Randburg, Johannesburg. She claimed she lost her cellphone when she was with her friends and her boyfriend in her house in Kleinvlei, Cape Town, on Saturday, 6 July 2024. She then decided to go to Kleinvlei Police Station to report the matter and open a case.“I told the police there were people in my house. I told them I went out and left my cellphone behind. When I came back, it wasn’t there. It was stolen. So, I wanted the police to question everyone who was in the house, recover my phone, and maybe make an arrest.

“But the police told me to go and look for the person who stole my phone myself. They further told me to call them if I found the suspect. I was so shocked. How can I look for a suspect when I’m not a cop? The police asked me to do something that was supposed to be done by them. That was shocking for me,” Vovo claimed.I don’t even know if case is being investigated

This leaves me with a lot of questions about our country’s law enforcement. I understand that some would regard my case as small or lacking importance compared to other cases. But it was wrong for the police to tell me to go and look for the suspect,” claimed Vovo.

“We can confirm that Kleinvlei police registered a case of theft for investigation following an incident on 6 July 2024 at Forcado Street, Forest Village, Kleinvlei. No one was arrested, investigations are continuing,” Manyana said.
