CLUB DJ Londa Mbatha has been announced as the winner of UKhozi FM’s Winnie Mahlangu Female Presenter Search competition.


 

 

 

She follows in the footsteps of the previous winners Bingelela Mpaza and Zama Mseleku.

The annual competition is run by Ukhozi FM as part of honouring the late Winnie Mahlangu, who was the first female DJ to join the radio station when it was still called Radio Bantu.

Londa, who hails from Ekuvukeni in KZN, thanked the fans who voted for her.

“I would like to thank everyone who believed in me.

Ukhozi FM is not just a radio station, but it is number one in Mzansi. It’s an honour to be part of this station,” she said.

Londa has some experience behind the mic as she has worked for Radio DUT as a presenter.

She said radio is her first love.

“I love talking to people, so radio gives me that platform to engage with listeners.

“I believe that my future in radio is bright. Ukhozi FM has opened the door for us, young women, who want to realise their dreams as radio DJs,” said Londa.

Although she loves radio, Londa is also a model and a DJ.

“I’m a model and sometimes, I get hired to be a judge at beauty contests.

“I also get booked to play at local events as a DJ. I’m an artist, so I want to explore everything related to art,” said Londa.
