Beverly fronted the funk band Maze, which went on to have huge success with hits like Before I Let Go and Can’t Get Over You.

Samthing Soweto is not backing down from exposing DJ Maphorisa for who he is following the Amalanga Awafani saga.

Taking to Twitter during the early hours of Tuesday, the singer revealed how he used the music producer’s name to push his music to success but revealed that the producer took advantage of him by releasing his songs without permission and other form of exploitation.


 

DJ Maphorisa who was vexed by the claims shared a video where he asked the musician to send his invoice so he pays him off, as he can’t own all the masters to his song.

In response to Phori’s address, Samthing Soweto used the DJ’s words against him, hence exposing his lies to the public.

“Ladies and Gentlemen here it is – @djmaphorisa confirms that I paid to own my work/masters. Which was the agreement we had vs what he said in his initial video where he stated that he gave me my masters. There’s nothing wrong in me wanting to own my work,” the vocalist wrote.

Since the issue escalated on social media, netizens have come to the defense of Samthing Soweto while slamming Maphorisa for exploiting artists.
