Actress and tv presenter Phumeza Mdabe and her husband Shota are in a celebratory mood as their youngest child, Mpilo is celebrating his 8th birthday.
Phumeza took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt message for the man that has her heart. She said, “Happy birthday Ntsika ka mama ecgwele iMpilo🥳🎂🎉On this day 8 years ago, at 8h15 you were born 👑Your crown birthday.
“You turn 8 on the 8th of the 8th month. 888 Angel number says that your life purpose is fully supported by the universe. The universe is abundant and generous and wishes to reward you🕯🕯🕯
“We thank God for your life Ntsika. I speak blessings and abundance in your new year. This year is going to be a special one for you. I can feel it! Thank you for choosing me to be your mother in this lifetime🥺 At your age, you always offer me your jacket when I feel cold. I’m so blessed. I love you❤️”
Phumeza’s husband Shota also took to Instagram to celebrate their son. He said, “My boy is turning 8yrs today. Please join me in wishing him a long life filled with blessings, lots of wisdom, laughter, peace and happiness”

Two weeks ago, Phumeza was celebrated by her family. They surprised her flowersa nd chocolates just to thank her.
Phumeza said, “So these 3 went to the ‘shops’ only to come back with a bouquet each for me and some chocolate 🥺 One from my Prince Charming @shota_afroraw , one from my sister in love 💕 and one from my amazing not so baby – girl 😄 Never saw it coming, made me a bit emotional 🥺 A beautiful Thursday indeed🙇🏽♀️”
3 months ago, Phumeza shared a heartbreaking story on Twitter about how she had to break it down to her son that he would never be able to see again.
8-year-old Mpilo had his eyes removed after being diagnosed with cancer. Yearly, Mpilo has to get new prosthetic eyes and on the 29th of April, he had his new eyes fitted.
Mpilo is getting new prosthetic eyes fitted soon, he screamed and said , I’m gonna see like everyone else💔💔I had to explain that he will never have vision again while a lump sat in my throat and trying my best for him not to hear me crying😭😭 This journey isn’t easy at all.

As heartbreaking as this was, Mpilo is a bright young handsome brave boy that is optimistic and takes each day as it comes. We wish Mpilo a lovely 8th birthday.
