Slikour and Melissa Celebrate A Huge Milestone
Siyabonga “Slikour” Metane and Melissa have sealed off another year in their union in a stylish way. 4 years ago, Slikour put a ring on it and the couple is going stronger than ever.
Marriage has its own ups and downs, but these two lovebirds have stuck it out together – with grace and love.
Celebrating their major milestone, Slikour penned a sweet message on his Instagram account. He shared a picture of them on their wedding day getting down. He captioned the picture “Thanks mama for being in my and our lives. Some things are bigger than our intelligence. Some things are divine in their intervention.”
The couple welcomed their first born together last year and she recently turned one year old.
Taking to his Instagram account to celebrate her birthday Slikour shared, “Last year this morning I was in hospital being handed scissors to cut baby girl’s umbilical cord. We are thankful for the first year and pray for many more. My baby girl Shaka Khensani Anathi Metane,”
Melissa revealed to the Sunday Times at the time how Covid-19 altered her birthing plan. “In terms of the actual birthing process, that really changed significantly because we had intended for our families to be there — both our mothers and our kids,” Melissa said.
“We wanted all of them to be there to welcome Shaka, but unfortunately because of Covid-19 they couldn’t. The hospital had already amended the rules and was stricter. The father was only allowed to be there during the birthing process. Then he had to leave and the visiting hours had also been cut short — he was only allowed one hour of visiting and family wasn’t allowed at all.
“It was really stressful and emotionally taxing to be left alone for those hours after the birth. However, we understood why the hospital had to be so strict. It was for my baby’s wellbeing, and mine and everyone else in the hospital.”
Another couple that recently celebrated its 4th year anniversary is Minenhle Dlamini Jones and her hubby Quinton Jones. Minnie admitted that marriage has not been easy and that many times they just wanted to give up, but they didn’t.
“Happy Anniversary to us. I can’t believe it’s 4years already wow time flies!!!! Marriage is not easy and there are many times we’ve both wanted to call it quits but it’s days like today that remind us of the promise we made to each other Love you Baba kaNetha,”
