Somizi’s Musical “Comeback” Gets Dragged
Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung has again captured headlines and this time, like the last it is not for reasons that the popular beloved personality might trend.
The multi-talented personality has a story that surfaced that Somizi is planning to make a musical comeback. Timeslive published an article announcing that the “Idols SA” judge is supposed to have been featured on the album of acclaimed singer, Judith Sephuma. The article is based on a post on an Instagram post that shared one of the collaborations that he has enlisted by the singer to tackle one of his “biggest challenges” yet of his career.
In the post Somizi is in the studio with Judith working on their collaborative song together. Talking about the experience of being in studio and pushed beyond his comfort zone he writes that, “(Judith) was so patient and caring throughout, and (she) coaching me all the way. I do not know what you see in me for you to trust me (to be) on your project. But God bless your heart. Now as I nervously wait for the final product.”

But it seems that Somizi is not the only one wondering what the final product will sound like. Many tweeps took to social media and shared their thoughts on what the final product will sound like too. The Twitter streets were merciless when new that Somizi is making a comeback to music. Sharing their thoughts on the revelation on his comeback many inquired why is it called a comeback, considering that the personality allegedly has never arrived musically to have such an impact to “comeback” into the game.

For the people who are not in the know, the personality has released music in the past. His most recent release is can be found on Instagram which suggests that the song was back in 2018 titled “Ngibonile,” which he worked on with acclaimed producer and DJ Heavy K. The song got airplay was on “Idols SA,” where he it seems was the only platform he can be perform the song because again- connections.

Somizi in the public eye is slowly becoming the face of the term, “it is not what you know, it is about who you know.” Besides the allegations of what was his popular cooking show, “Dinner at Somizi’s.” Somizi’s name again came into the spotlight when his husband, Mohale Motaung-Mhlongo, has been cast in a popular eTV series, “Rhythm City.”
