Zakes Bantwini and DJ Cleo clash over kwaito tribute at the 30th Samas

The 2024 edition of South African Music Awards (Samas) might have taken place over the weekend but there have been some high-profile reactions to the nation’s biggest night in music.

Tyla, Kabza De Small and uGatsheni were some of the biggest winners at the gathering, which took place on Saturday, November 2, at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand.Hosted by Minnie Dlamini with 5FM and the “Expresso Morning Show” presenter, Zanele Potelwa, as the Samas Voice of GOD, the event also featured electrifying performances from top talents.

As this was the 30th edition of the awards, DJ Cleo (real name Tlou Cleopas Monyepao) also took to the stage as part of a kwaito tribute over the past three decades in South Africa.

But renowned South African musician Zakes Bantwini was not happy with this performance.

He took to X on Monday, November 4, to write: “I really enjoyed the 30-year Kwaito tribute by @djcleo1 but I was disappointed that the Durban Kwaito music era wasn’t adequately represented in his mix. #Samas30.”

The acclaimed music producer replied: ”My brother, I love u & your moves & have always rooted for u. I’ve never tweeted or said anything negative about u.

“U have my number & U know, SAMAs r very political & are not my show or platform. Let’s lead the youngins by example & not do social media rants like them I beg (sic).”Grammy award-winner Bantwini appeared to feel the heat of being called out and he replied by saying: “I apologise if my previous tweet offended you. My comment was driven by my passion for music. You are right; I should have reached out directly. Please accept my sincere apology.”

Fans had mixed reactions to this online interaction between the two local musical heavyweights.

@ShiloteW wrote: ‘I am a fan of both guys and honestly I don’t see anything negative about Zake’s tweet.”Supaguluva_ added: “Cleopatra grootman you’re just being dramatic here, there’s nothing wrong with Zake’s post. You should have just responded and kept it moving. But you are the Prince Kaybee of our time, very provocative.

@BlackWizSA posted: “I totally understand what Cleo is saying here. Why post when you can talk to the brother since you have his numbers. Now it’s causing unnecessary outrage when he could have explained to you why and then post with the right info.”

@SIYA_VS also commented: “Zakes is actually calling out the SAMAs not you directly.”She also received the prestigious International Achievement Award but not the big award of the night.

This didn’t sit right with the rapper, who questioned why Tyla, who achieved global success with her single “Water”, wasn’t awarded Record of the Year in her home country.

“No ways. Tyla won a Grammy for Water, bro, but she don’t get the SAMA for Record of the Year at home? Haha, y’all are playing games,” he tweeted, setting off a passionate debate among fans.

The UNTOLD Story and Trυst Behind SIYA and RACHEL Kolisi’s DIVORCE

The UNTOLD Story and Trυst Behind SIYA and RACHEL Kolisi’s DIVORCEThe powerful couple Siya and Rachel Kolisi, known for their incredible achievements and strong bond, now stand on the brink of divorce with the world watching.Their journey has taken an unexpected turn, prompting us to explore what led to this moment, from their humble beginnings to the heights of fame and fortune.

Siya Kolisi’s journey began in the small town of Zwide in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where he was born on June 16, 1991.

Growing up, he faced unimaginable hardships after losing his mother at a young age, leading him to be raised by his grandmother.

Siya experienced firsthand what poverty and resilience truly mean.

Despite these struggles, he discovered a passion for rugby that would change his life. His natural athleticism caught the attention of coaches in high school, where he quickly made a name for himself on the field.

Attending Gray High School in Port Elizabeth, he joined the first team and showcased his skills.

His story of going from barely having shoes to becoming a sports icon is truly inspiring.

Rachel Kolisi, on the other hand, grew up in a more stable environment in South Africa.

Pursuing her passion for helping others, she was already a year ahead of Siya in school when they first crossed paths.

Their love story began when they were young adults, marked by an immediate and deep connection.

They married in 2016, just as Siya was rising as a rugby sensation.

Together, they became an unstoppable force, inspiring fans with their openness, devotion, and grounded nature, all while building their family and welcoming two beautiful children.
As Siya’s career soared, he became the first Black captain to lead South Africa’s national rugby team, the Springboks, to a World Cup victory in 2019.

His annual income, estimated around 18 million rands, made him one of the highest-paid athletes in South Africa, with a net worth estimated at around 200 million rands.

Much of his wealth was reinvested into the Kolisi Foundation, which he co-founded with Rachel, who took on the role of CEO.

Her leadership and organizational skills expanded the foundation’s reach, addressing critical social issues like gender-based violence and food insecurity.

However, their love story began to unravel amidst rumors of infidelity.

Reports emerged that Rachel discovered Siya was allegedly seeing another woman, a well-known Instagram influencer.
Siya Kolisi and wife Rachel to divorceDespite her unwavering support for his career, the repeated betrayals took a toll on her emotional well-being, leaving her feeling disrespected and undervalued.

After reaching a breaking point, Rachel made the difficult decision to end their relationship.

This choice marked not only the end of their marriage but also posed serious challenges for Siya, both personally and professionally.

The split could significantly impact his public image, his role as a father, and his standing in the rugby community.

As the news spread, it became clear that this was a defining moment for Siya, one that could alter the course of his life and career.

The divorce has far-reaching implications, especially for the Kolisi Foundation, where Rachel played a crucial role in daily operations.

Without her, the foundation’s future is uncertain, raising concerns about the continuity of its vital programs.

Their shared assets and properties will likely be scrutinized during the divorce, leading to a division of their wealth.

If Rachel gains control over some of these assets, Siya may face difficulties in rebuilding what they had established together.

Siya and Rachel Kolisi divorce: Shocking truth behind their split

Siya Kolisi Che@ted on Rachel Kolisi with Jessica Motaung, Zozi Tunzi causing Divorce probably

The accusations involve two well-known personalities: Jessica Motaung, the CEO of the Kaizer Chiefs football club, and Zozi Tunzi, the former Miss Universe 2019.

These claims have sparked widespread speculation about his marriage to Rachel Kolisi, with rumors of a possible divorce circulating in the media.

Siya Kolisi has long been seen as a symbol of both athletic excellence and family values. His leadership of the South African rugby team to victory in the 2019 Rugby World Cup cemented his status as a national hero.

However, in recent months, his personal life has come under intense scrutiny.

Multiple sources have alleged that Kolisi has been involved in long-term relationships with Motaung and Tunzi, both of whom are high-profile figures in South Africa.

Reports suggest that these relationships were not casual but ongoing, with some even pointing to evidence of their interactions.

Rachel Kolisi, Siya’s wife, is said to have discovered the truth about her husband’s infidelities. Their marriage, once seen as an example of the perfect family, now appears to be on the brink of collapse.

Friends and insiders have reported that Rachel is devastated by the revelations, describing the situation as both painful and public.

Despite the mounting speculation, there has been no official confirmation of a divorce, but the tension in their relationship is palpable.

The couple, once known for their strong public image, now faces an uncertain future.

While Siya Kolisi has yet to address the allegations directly, media attempts to reach him for comment have been met with silence or avoidance. His response—or lack thereof—has only fueled further speculation.

Both Motaung and Tunzi have also remained quiet on the matter, opting not to make any public statements regarding their alleged involvement with the rugby star.
This silence has left the media and public to fill in the blanks, creating a swirl of gossip and rumors.

For Siya Kolisi, this scandal could have significant consequences, both personally and professionally.

As a beloved sports figure, his image has been tarnished by the accusations. His sponsorship deals and partnerships, which have been a major part of his financial success, may be at risk if the allegations are confirmed.

The public’s perception of him could shift, and his once-stellar reputation may suffer long-term damage. In a world where athletes are not just players but brands, Kolisi’s future in the endorsement market could be uncertain.

The ongoing situation is being closely watched, as the outcome could have ripple effects across both the sports and entertainment industries.

Fans, who once looked up to Siya Kolisi as a role model, are now left grappling with the possibility that their hero may not be the man they thought he was.
