7de Laan star Diaan Lawrenson who is known for her role as Paula van der Lecq has been promoted to CEO position at AFDA film school.

TVSA confirms that the former 7de Laan actress Diaan Lawrenson was appointed as CEO of AFDA film school, five and a half years after she became Dean.
Lawrenson reveals in a statement: “As CEO, my role will contribute to steering the growth and evolution of our institution. Ensuring its continued relevance and impact within the creative economy. This includes encouraging the development of our student body and amplifying the contributions of our alumni to the industries.”
Lawrenson’s vision is to also produce graduates who are not only highly employable but who emerge as entrepreneurs and industry leaders.
She adds: “They will not only create opportunities for themselves but also for others, contributing to the growth and transformation of the creative economy.”
“I’m confident we can achieve growth across many facets of our business, solidifying AFDA’s position as the preferred institution for education within the creative industries and beyond.”

The film school reveals that Lawrenson began lecturing at AFDA in 2016 and was appointed as Dean of the Cape Town campus in early 2019.
The award-winning thespian is also the co-founder of the award-winning production company, Jester Productions.
