In 2022, shortly after the announcement of her first baby, claims that Peter Matsimbe was an unfaithful husband started circulating. However, in a combined statement, the couple rubbished the rumours.

“We make this statement on behalf of Ms Ayanda Thabethe, who is supported by her partner, referred to as ‘PM’.

“The rumour that Ayanda Thabethe is in a relationship with a married man is not true and we have not been provided with evidence proving otherwise. PM is not in any marriage or union recognised by the law,” read the statement in part.

In September 2023, the two welcomed their second son.

The former “Idols South Africa” judge often took to social media over the years to praise her father for the pivotal role that he has played in her life.

She’s originally from Richards Bay and was raised by her paternal grandparents.
Like Andile, soccer is a family business. Her uncle, Sfiso Biyela, is the Chairman of Richards Bay FC.

She’s a student at Varsity College, studying law, and is also a model.
