ANELE MDODA GIVES DOMESTIC WORKER A TOP POSITION
In a series of tweets over the weekend, Anele Mdoda indirectly revealed that her loyal domestic worker had an impressive promotion.
The 947 star – who has her own production company called Rose And Oaks Media – initially hailed her “holiday nanny” as “bloody brilliant” in a tweet.
She posted about her new employee: “Wow, what a score! The kids love her. She is clinical in cleaning. She makes beds like she works at the Saxon, and she thinks my cooking is the best!! Also, she moves with feline energy!”When her followers questioned what happened to Florence, her nanny and helper, Anele responded: “Flo isn’t the nanny anymore. She is on the PA team and wardrobe assistant for my productions.”In the comments section, Anele was praised for her empowerment and leadership.
@ThatMadi: “I love the way you look out for your people. This is why God will always have your back.”
@Maggzunlimited: “Thank you! You are an amazing human, Anele! May you grow in leaps and bounds.”
@SisandaDlanj113: “Flo has been upskilled! Love you for this.”
PERKS OF WORKING FOR MEDIA PERSONALITY
Anele Mdoda has been very vocal about how employees – particularly hers – should be treated.
In a tweet in October, the 40-year-old called on the government to subsidise transport costs for low-income earning South Africans.
She shared: “Nothing breaks my heart more than when a waiter asks for his tip to be in cash so he can have transport money to go to and from work.
She continued: “Isn’t there a way where government subsidies transport for the workforce in our country? I tell you, if transport was close to free, we would be able to free up more spend for breadwinners”.
Reflecting on her own employees, she added: “None of my staff pay for their transport. I cover that. It’s not their fault they live so far from where they work..”
“Wow, Anele, God bless you,” said one follower. Another added: “Flo is living her best life”.
But when one tweep commented that Flo was “lucky,” she clapped back: “Flo works very hard. There is no luck here.”
In 2017, Anele made headlines after she bought Flo an Audi A3 worth over R300 000. She also revealed that her helper gets a fully-paid month’s leave during the festive period.
