Kefilwe Mabote parts ways with the Versace brand

South African fashion influencer Kefilwe Mabote has turned over a new leaf, announcing that she has given her life to God.

The socialite revealed that the catalyst for this change was her realization that her life had been stuck in a repetitive cycle for years.

“Have you ever stopped to question why certain patterns keep repeating in your life, yet no matter how hard you pray or search, the answers seem out of reach? I spent years crying out to God, seeking clarity, feeling broken, and wondering what I was missing. It wasn’t until October 2023, when I made the decision to let go of all worldly distractions and pleasures, that I finally began to see the truth,” she wrote.

Kefilwe said she sought God and realized what had been blocking her prayers. She shared that her eyes were opened to certain lifestyles and traditions she needed to part ways with.

“To cut a long story short, God sent me a testimony that opened my eyes to a reality I wasn’t ready for—spiritual strongholds that had followed me through my bloodline. I had also unknowingly opened doors to things like idolatry, horoscopes, new age practices, unforgiveness, soul ties, traditional/cultural practices, wrong crowds, certain social media campaigns, gigs, and more.”

Mabote, who has experienced multiple failed marriages, declared that she has repented and no longer wants to be perceived as an idol.

“I had to surrender fully to Jesus, repent of all my sins, and renounce anything that gave the enemy access to my life. I’ve been through so much, but I can confidently say that God is powerful.”

“I no longer want to be an idol for anyone. I’m human, and I will fail, but Jesus never will. This life is temporary, and we are living in a time where men love themselves more than God, and the Antichrist will soon rise. I’m sharing this because I know how it feels to live in darkness, searching for answers,” she said.

Kefilwe Mabote further shared a video of herself burning her luxury fashion pieces from the Versace brand.

She explained that the clothes featured Medusa, which led her to burn them.

In Greek mythology, Medusa, also called Gorgo or the Gorgon, was one of the three Gorgons. She is generally described as a woman with living snakes in place of hair; her appearance was so hideous that anyone who looked upon her was turned to stone.

“Burning the Medusa face was one of the most freeing and therapeutic things I’ve ever done, as part of breaking some of the idols I had. It was about breaking down the idols I had unknowingly built in my heart—the very things that distracted me from fully walking with Jesus.”

“The next time I own something luxurious, it will simply be an item, not a reflection of my identity or my purpose. My worth is found in Christ alone. I’m learning to let Him shape me according to His will, not the ever-changing expectations of culture. The same culture that applauds you today can tear you down and demonize you tomorrow. But God’s love is constant—He loves me with or without the luxury, and that’s all that truly matters.”

Khaya Dlanga reflects on his mother’s passing with moving tribute

South African media personality Khaya Dlanga recently took to social media to reflect on the passing of his beloved mother, marking the first anniversary of her death.

He wrote, “This past year feels both long and short. It’s been exactly one year today since a WhatsApp call shattered the quiet of an ordinary Monday. It lasted exactly 59 seconds. I remember every second of it—the voice on the other end, its finality. All I could say was, ‘Ok.’ Again and again. ‘Ok.’ ‘Ok.’ ‘Enkosi, sisi.’”

Dlanga described the day as otherwise unremarkable, blending into countless others until that call transformed it. “After the call, there was a silence so sharp it felt like it would cut through me. I was unnervingly calm—if not cold. Yes, cold. It was a coldness that moved all over my body with nowhere to go. I did not scream, cry, or shout,” he recalled.

He spoke of the profound loneliness that followed and shared a poignant memory of his mother’s love for sunflowers, which she always planted. “They follow the sun even on cloudy days. Perhaps she was showing us to keep our faces pointed toward the light, much like the message found scratched into a Nazi concentration camp: ‘I believe in the sun even when it isn’t shining. I believe in love even when I can’t feel it. I believe in God even when He is silent.’”

One year later, Dlanga admits that grief remains a heavy burden. “Some days I manage it, and some days I don’t. The cold is still here, but there are moments when the light filters through—like a sunflower turning its face toward the sun,” he concluded.
