CICI HEARTBROKEN OVER ARTHUR’S PERFOMANCE
On Saturday night, the prestigious SAMA awards took place at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Johannesburg. This year’s event made a strong comeback, featuring multiple performances, including one by Mafokate, who is Cici’s former partner.
Mafokate delivered a stellar performance alongside Kwaito legend Chommie, but Mzansi has expressed disappointment with the show’s organisers for selecting him to perform at the show.
Cici reacted to this by posting broken heart emojis on her Twitter (X) account.
X USERS WEIGH IN ON HER REACTION
X users comforted her in the comments section.
@_BeingNaledi wrote: “We stand by you always. We believe you. And you deserve so much better than this. I’m so sorry you are being let down like this.”
@mpho02765843 shared: “Love you babe… You are such a strong queen and I admire that about you… God never gives us battles we can’t win and you proved that.”
Grootboom704 commented: “I’m actually baffled coz the SAMAs set you up! They’re so nasty.”
ARTHUR ACQUITTED OF ASSAULT CHARGES AGAINST HIM
In 2018, Cici accused the self-proclaimed King of Kwaito of assault. She reportedly claimed that Mafokate dragged her through the streets, which led to her needing pelvic replacement surgery.
Cici shared a pictures on Instagram of an x-ray revealing screws implanted in her body and tagged the Kwaito legend.
“Dear @Arthurmafokate Sir how do you maintain not guilty when these are the screws I have as a result of what you have done to me? Where was the constitution when you violated me?” she asked.
In a surprising turn of events, Arthur filed counter-assault charges against Cici. The singer was later acquitted of assault charges and the charges against Mafokate were reportedly dropped because there was not enough evidence to prosecute.
