AWARD-WINNING comedian and writer enters the journey of fatherhood.
Tsitsi Chiumya welcomed his first child with his girlfriend, actress Gina Koffman.
The entertainer from Lebowakgomo, Limpopo, known for his sharp wit and relatable humour, described this new chapter as thrilling and unfamiliar.
Speaking to Daily Sun, the 30-year-old dad shared his excitement.
“It feels good to be a father. Itās a new way to flex whatever is happening in my life.”
Tsitsi humorously remarked that being a father can sometimes be used to “brag” to other dads.
āAnything good that happens, I want to show it off.ā
While navigating fatherhood, the funnyman admits heās learning on the go. āA lot of people give you advice, but then you realise that some of it doesnāt apply to your situation. There are certain things I went through that I donāt want my child to experience. Itās a journey of understanding and breaking cycles,ā he said.
The co-host of the Popcorn and Cheese Podcast said he’s never been one to pass up an opportunity to make light of life’s happenings.
He believes fatherhood is no exception.
āEven the most serious things have a funny side to them. Being a father is a big responsibility, but I donāt want to make it boring by being too serious. I want raising a child to be fun, and I hope my son sees the humour in life as I do,” he said.
Tsitsi shared that his son’s name is Selemo and recounted some light-hearted moments from his newbornās early days.
āI canāt wait for him to start talking. Right now, his neck is still too flimsy, and every time I pick him up, his head flops around. Iām looking forward to seeing him grow, walk, make choices, and go to school. I just want to be present and witness his journey,ā he said.
