This significant contribution pushes the total funds raised, spearheaded by TikTok influencer Mandisi Tshingana, to over R100,000.Ngxoli, a beloved figure in South African television, has been notably absent from major productions in recent years, leaving her in a precarious financial situation.
Fans and supporters rallied around her after she shared the challenges she has faced, including allegations of long-term abuse from her family. Her candid revelations struck a chord, leading to an outpouring of financial and emotional support.
Ferguson Films, one of South Africaโs most renowned production houses spearheaded by the renowned Connie Ferguson, joined the wave of support, demonstrating the entertainment industryโs dedication to uplifting its own during difficult times.
The funds will undoubtedly provide โThe Queenโ actress with the much-needed financial stability and support as she works to rebuild her life, and secure a better future for herself and her young daughter.In a heartfelt response, Ngxoli expressed her gratitude. โIโve cried so much, feeling like no one was listening, but this time, you all did something I didnโt expect,โ the SAFTA award-winning actress said in a TikTok video message. Addressing Mandisi Tshingana directly, she added, โMandisi, I have not spoken to you, but I want to thank you for what you did. A lot of people have been giving me support, calling me, and I am grateful.โ
Ngxoli clarified that while she had not requested financial assistance, the outpouring of help has been deeply moving.
