Get to know Pablo from Scandal

Otto Nobela is a South African actor who is famous for his cameo role on Scandal as Pablo. A role he played alongside Matthew’s Rantsoma and James Sithole.

Born and raised in Atteridgeville, Pretoria, she is popularly known for playing the role of a gangster called ‘Pablo’ in etvScandal. Otto Nobela mentioned that he also starred in Matwetwe, The Bantu Hour, Letter of Hope, The Brave One, Surviving Gaza, and Queen Sono. The rising star said he started being passionate about acting while he was still in high school.


 

 

 

 

“I started acting in 2007 through the community group called ‘Siphiwe Isipho’ and later went to complete a two-year development programme with the South African State Theatre, where I am currently a drama facilitator. “I received an award for being the best supporting actor at Mzansi Fela in 2014 and 2015. Giving back to my community has been the biggest blessing as I share my knowledge and skills by teaching community groups at different schools.” Nobela said.He is fluent in English, Xitsonga, and Tswana. Moreover, Nobela has revealed how he always loved acting. He traced his love for the arts to high school, when he was still very young. However, it took him a while to get to where he is.

Otto Nobela attended the Edward Phatudi Comprehensive School for his secondary schooling. Thereafter, he went on to do some acting training under Duma Ndlovu and other theater houses. On his Facebook page, he revealed that he also studied theater at the South African State Theatre, presumably in Pretoria, where he’s from.

Although Nobela’s talent started being recognised at the South African State Theatre, he became famous after appearing on various television shows. As a young director, he further said he hopes to use the arts to tell stories that have gone unheard.
