A Kaizer Chiefs fan was forced to trek 400km after promising to walk from Johannesburg to Tzaneen if his team lost over the weekend.
The staunch Amakhosi supporter was at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg, where Kaizer Chiefs played Mamelodi Sundowns in a Telkom Knockout quarter-final match.
Kaizer Chiefs Fan Keeps His Promise, Walks From Johannesburg To Tzaneen After His Team Lost
One devoted fan went to FNB Stadium to watch the game and he donned the Kaizer Chiefs jersey. He also had a fan helmet, a vehicle license plate written, “Moshikaro” and a placard.
On the placard, he inscribed:
“If Sundowns beat us tonight, I will walk from JHB to Tzaneen.”
The camera crew could not help but pan to him to show his bold bet. However, the match did not go as the fans anticipated.

Mamelodi Sundowns punished Kaizer Chiefs an emphatic 4-0, chucking them out of the Telkom Knockout Cup. The Amakhozi fan was forced to swallow the bitter pill and see through his promise.
The fan and his friend left the FNB Stadium and started walking home to Tzaneen on foot. The journey got so arduous that, at some point, the two removed their shoes and started walking with bare feet.
