Lebo M mourns the passing of his mother

Renowned composer and Grammy Award-winning producer Lebohang “Lebo M” Morake is mourning the loss of his mother, Magogo Nomvula Grissel Morake.

The news of her passing was confirmed by his management on Friday.

 

According to an official statement, Magogo Morake “passed away peacefully this morning after a beautiful and restful night.”

The family described her as “a true matriarch, a pillar of love, wisdom, and strength within her family and community.”

The statement further highlighted that “her legacy of kindness and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.”

During this difficult time, Morake and his family have expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support and condolences they have received.

The news comes at a time when Lebo M has been celebrating professional milestones, particularly the international success of Mufasa: The Lion King, which recently grossed an impressive $700 million (R13 billion) worldwide.

Despite this achievement, his personal life has remained under public scrutiny due to ongoing legal battles with his estranged wife, Pretty Samuels.
