Sello Maake kaNcube Reclaims Mercedes Benz Amid Divorce Drama with Pearl Mbewe

The divorce drama between the renowned actor Sello Maake kaNcube and his estranged wife Pearl Mbewe is far from over. It seems like Pearl might be using public transport this festive season after Maake took back the brand-new Mercedes Benz he bought for her in happier times.

Sources close to the couple claim Maake took back the luxury car after their relationship hit the rocks a few weeks ago. While Maake continues to cruise in his Porsche Cayenne, the Mercedes is now predominantly driven by his son.

“He sometimes drives the car, but it is mostly driven by his son,” added the source.

Pearl, who played a significant role in supporting Maake during their marriage, allegedly feels entitled to the car. According to sources, when the couple started dating, they relied on her car for transportation. Now that Maake has achieved financial success, she reportedly believes he owes her compensation, including the vehicle.

“They were using her car for a while then when Maake started making money, he bought a car and a house in Centurion and kicked her out,” another source said.

Another insider revealed that Pearl, originally from Braamfischer in Soweto, also feels she’s owed a share of Maake’s assets, especially since she helped secure lucrative business deals for him.

“But unfortunately, the car was not bought under her name. Yena, she worked shame; she brought good deals and made money,” added the source.

When reached for comment, Sello Maake kaNcube maintained a composed tone, emphasizing that he is not feuding with his ex-wife.

“It is not uncommon for parties in divorce proceedings to maintain a hostile attitude towards each other, at least for a while. The fact that parties are at loggerheads in divorce proceedings is, however, not justification for unlawful conduct resulting in attempts to defame and slander the other remains unlawful,” he said.

On the topic of the car, the actor kept his response brief:

“A divorce is a private matter and I won’t comment about the car issue.”

Efforts to contact Pearl for her side of the story were unsuccessful.
