MZANSI Magic recently cancelled its popular telenovela, Ggeberha: The Empire.
It has now cancelled the other two highest-performing popular shows.
Umkhokha: The Curse and My Brother’s Keeper have been cancelled after both telenovelas enjoyed two seasons on Mzansi Magic.
The shows will end at the beginning of 2025, paving the way for a line-up of new productions, which will be announced soon. Umkhokha: The Curse, starring the likes of Deli Malinga, Sibonile Ngubane, and Gcinile Nkosi, will conclude in February 2025, while My Brother’s Keeper, featuring actors such as Sdumo Mtshali, Wiseman Mncube, and Zola Nombona will end in April 2025.
Director of local channels at M-Net, Shirley Adonisi, praised Umkhokha and My Brother’s Keeper for their exceptional contribution to storytelling in Mzansi.

Umkhokha: The Curse started as a 13-part series and quickly captivated audiences, prompting its transformation into a full-fledged telenovela.
The show, which kept many viewers even with its theme songs, also released its album, Ikhaya Lamajudiya theme songs.
On the other hand, My Brother’s Keeper rocked viewers with its star-studded and dynamic characters and storyline from the no-nonsense Mshengu family.
Shirley said that they’re incredibly grateful to their loyal viewers and want to assure them that 2025 will be even more sensational.
