Angel Zuma, best known for her character of the devious Nomkhosi in Umkhokha: The Curse, has once again surprised South Africans with her exceptional talent.
The actress first became known for her part as Zethu on Uzalo, but it was her portrayal as Nomkhosi, Khulekani Mthembu’s wife, that secured her place in the entertainment industry.
It has been rumoured that Angel Zuma is leaving Umkhokha: The Curse to take a part in the critically acclaimed musical drama The Lion King. In the South African soap opera, the actress portrays Nomkhosi, Khulekani Mthembu’s wife; nonetheless, her desire of expanding internationally has finally materialised.
According to Zimoja, a source confirmed the event: “My friend has always wanted to travel and work abroad.” You don’t pass up the opportunity to work on a production like The Lion King. It’s every actor’s fantasy.
The producers were reportedly unhappy because they were not prepared to lose her and were not looking for a replacement. “They wanted to see more of her on the show because she does it so well,” claimed an insider. I’m not sure how they’re going to handle this one because she didn’t leave on a cloud. “She might return and shoot her exit scenes properly,” stated an insider.
