Fan-favourite actress Angel Zuma, who plays the role of Nomkhosi is reportedly leaving Umkhokha: The Curse.

Sources from Umkhokha: The Curse tell Zimoja that the singer and actress Angel Zuma is leaving the show.
Sources close to the star confirm she’s been offered a lucrative role on the internationally acclaimed musical drama, The Lion King.
“My friend has always wanted to go and work abroad. You don’t miss an opportunity of working in a production like The Lion King. It is every actors dream,” says the source.
Another source says Zuma informed Umkhokha producers about quitting just after she signed her contract with the international production.
Zuma is also known for playing the character of Zethu in SABC1’s soapie, Uzalo.

Producers will either find a replacement or ki her character. On the show, Nomkhosi and Khulekani are forming a breakaway church led by his brother, Siphamandla Mthembu (Nay Maps).
“I am not sure how they are going to play out this one because she did not leave under a cloud. She might come back and shoot her exit scenes properly,” said the insider.
Another insider adds that producers might find it difficult to get someone to replace Zuma in the faith-based telenovela.
“This is because her role is prominent. The writers and producers will have to meet and discuss a way forward. However, I know they are looking at holding auditions next week to either try and replace her or find new characters,” said the source.
Portia Hlongwane, who is a publicist for Mzansi Magic confirms to Zimoja that Zuma has gotten an amazing opportunity to be part of the Lion King in Canada (Toronto).
