Zandie Khumalo’s husband Mhlo set to marry a second wife
Zandie Khumalo is about to have a full taste of a polygamous home as her husband, Mhlo Gumede is set to take a second wife.
The couple tied the knot in 2016, and their marriage is blessed with a child.
According to Zimoja, a close friend revealed that the new wife is the late Zanele Mbokazi’s niece and publicist, Nonjabulo Mdluli.
“The families have already met, and there was a welcoming ceremony that took place a few days before Zanele passed away,” the friend said.
Zandie, who is a sister to Kelly Khumalo revealed in a recent interview with the aforementioned publication that her home is opened to a second wife as she is African.
“I am an African and completely for iSthembu, ngikhulele khona esithenjini (I grew up in a polygamous home) through my grandfather. I am here kwa Gumede ukuzokwakha umuzi (to build the Gumede name) and uGumede is the leader and the head of this family,’ Zandie said.
“I take direction from him’ my husband loves me dearly and I love him even. I love that man, and I care about him, and I want nothing bad to happen to him,’ she adds. “If egula nami ngiyagula (he is sick, then I also get ill), even abakhongi mabefika ekhaya (the lobola negotiators) they did ask that I leave the door open as a second wife might need to enter at some point.”
Zandie Khumalo further made comment about the alleged new wife.
“I wouldn’t want to comment about Nonjabulo, she is going through a difficult time at the moment and as a family, we support her fully during this grieving period and I shared that on my social media,’ Zandi said.
“Whether this story is true or not it’s a family matter but nje kuba mnandi manibaningi ekhaya mukhulu nalomuzi wakwa Gumede (It’s nice when you have a sister wife and the Gumede house is big) I need all the help I can get.’
