Former Generations actress Connie Ferguson has warned her followers to be wary of criminals who are using her name to scam people on social media.
In a recent video she posted on her Instagram and TikTok accounts, Connie urged her fans to stay vigilant and not fall victim to the scams.
“So it seems this video is long overdue. So there’s someone on TikTok pretending to be me and scamming people of money, claiming to invest in whatever. I don’t do crypto currency. I don’t do whatever online investments that they sell you out there.
“Don’t be scammed. People are taking your money. You won’t get money. There’s no shortcuts in life my people. Do not be scammed. I do not trade in anyway, shape or form okay. Be careful,” Connie said.

In her caption Connie further reiterated that she would never ask anyone for money. She also warned of the sophisticated methods criminals have resorted to to deceive people.
“These criminals are so advanced they use artificial intelligence to video call people using someone else’s identity and scam them of their hard earned money.
“Do not be so desperate that you ignore that gut feeling that tells you something is a not right! QUESTION EVERYTHING and do some research! Protect yourself and what is yours. Love and blessings always,” said Connie.
Similarly, in November 2024 Maps Maponyane warned his followers about ‘NovusX’, an organisation that was using his identity to lure investors. Maps took to social media to share that he was unaware of the scammers who were taking advantage of vulnerable people.
