Connie Ferguson Expresses Her Gratitute
Actress and Businesswoman Connie Ferguson took to Instagram to express her gratitude. She thanked Mzansi and the whole world for the support during her family’s difficult time.
She wrote: “I really have no words but to say THANK YOU. Thank you South Africa, the continent, and the world at large for the outpouring of love, words of comfort, and prayers. My family and I appreciate you. God bless you all.
“@broodiefuneral and @nono_events , thank you for giving my husband a send-off worthy of a KING! There’s never been anything ordinary about this man of God, and to the last moment, he had to put on a SHO!”
Connie also penned a heartwarming message to her friends and family. She said one day God will reunite her with her late husband Shona Ferguson.
“To my friends and colleagues, your support has been immeasurable! THANK YOU and God bless and multiply you. My daughters @sediimatsunyane & @ali.ferguson_, my sister @astoshiah and my grandson Ro, we have held each other’s hands so tight during this trying time. Dad lives on in our hearts and the many great memories we’ve shared over the past 20 years.
“He’ll always be with us. God will give us the strength to soldier on and heal our broken hearts. To my brothers and sisters on both sides, God is still God. He will see us through…To my ANGEL SHO, thank you for the best 20 years of my life! I love you and know that you are with us in spirit. One day we’ll be reunited, and all the angels in heaven will rejoice.”
Connie’s husband was laid to rest this Wednesday. He lost his battle with COVID-19 last week and died at the Milpark private hospital on Friday.
Connie’s last words to her husband left many people emotional. She said she had hopes that they were going to grow old together.
“Never in a million years will I have thought that we, In this position that I am in today, speaking as I am today without your physical presence. Sho I thought you and I were going to grow old together, that’s what I saw for myself, that’s what I saw for us, that’s always been the dream and that’s where I thought you and I were going.
“I never anticipated where we are today. God brought you into my life 20 years ago on the 21st of July was exactly 20 years that you and I have known each other and I anticipated another 20 years with you,” said Connie on her recorded tribute.
