How Zinhle Balances Kairo And Asante
DJ Zinhle was the recent guest on DStv’s Oh Snack and she spoke proudly about motherhood and how she balances two daughters. Zinhle welcomed her youngest daughter Asante a few weeks ago and although this is an exciting time for everyone including her eldest daughter Kairo Forbes, they had to make quiet the adjustments.
The show is hosted by Robyn Rene Morema and Taki Muthige and they tasked the DJ to whip a tasty snack that would be best enjoyed with her BLVD champagne.
A very difficult for Zinhle as she has always spoken about how her cooking skills are not up to par as her Deejaying skills. If you watch her reality show, The Unexpected, you would have witnessed how Zinhle refused to help her sister cook in the kitchen as she asked her to chop up the veggies for the meal they were going to enjoy.
When Robyn and Taki asked Zinhle to prepare a snack, her eyes popped and asked them have they not heard about her. All the ingredients looked puzzling for Zinhle who asked if they do go together.
In the end, sis managed to put things together to the best of her ability and the presenters managed to eat.
On a more serious note though, they asked Zinhle how has it been since welcoming the little one to their family. Zinhle said they all had to adjust but especially Kairo who felt neglected since baby sis came home.
Trying to do away with that feeling, Zinhle decided to treat her baby girl to a strictly mother and daughter spa day, so she could be reminded that
“I think it’s an adjustment for all of us, yesterday we literally had to have a mommy and me spa day without the baby, because she is feeling a bit neglected. I have to think of everything now, if I am buying this for Asante I have to think of Kairo. And naturally I am geared to take care of Asante because she is so small. But I had to really say I have two kids, you have to attend to both and I have help luckily.
“She’s doing very well she loves her sister, she just thinks the baby is boring which is true, but she loves her,” Zinhle laughed.
On the spa date, Kairo enjoyed having her mother all to herself as they did everything from massages, to getting snacks and just enjoying each other’s company. “Because any day is a good day to take your mom to the Spa, for a ‘Mom and Me’ pamper session right?” Kairo captioned her little clip.
When she was pregnant, Zinhle said Kairo had to know last because she was definitely going to broadcast the news for all to hear.
“Kairo is aware now, we had to tell her in stages and prepare her mentally by asking her whether she would share her play room and who she would share it with…Kairo is a kid…we really had to tell her last,” she told TshisaLive.
