Since the tragic death of soccer star Senzo Meyiwa in 2014 at his then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo’s family home in Vosloorus, the singer has been blamed by the public for his death.

During an episode on Life with Kelly Khumalo, the songstress is at an interview at Massive Metro with DJ Sbu and Tshepi Khanye and opens up about her late boyfriend.
Before the interview ends, DJ Sbu asks Kelly what she would say the late Senzo Meyiwa. Kelly then loudly sighs before beginning to answer the host’s question.
“I don’t know what to say,” says Kelly, “I think what I want to say to you is I would have been better off with you alive than gone,” Kelly adds.
In her diary cameo the singer opens up a bit more and says “My life took a turn for the worst and I’ve never really thought that in my existence I would be hated by so many so intensely,” says the singer as she battles tears.”
“Senzo was one of the people who never gave up on me no matter what. I drove him crazy; he drove me crazy but there was never a point where that man would give up on me, nothing was worth him giving up on me.”
“You know at first I thought maybe if they find the killers I would feel better and maybe my life would change but I realized that even that will not bring him back. That will never allow my daughter to have a father or me to have someone I call family a friend who is there no matter what irrespective of my shortcomings,” said the award-winning singer.
The goalkeeper died at the age of 27 when men allegedly stormed into the house and demanded cell phones and money from the people inside the house which were Zandie (Kelly Khumalo’s sister) her then-boyfriend Longwe Twala, Senzo, Kelly, her mother, her two children, Senzo’s friend Tumelo Madlala and Mthokozisi Twala (relative of Senzo’s wife Mandisa).
The mystery behind the unsolved failed robbery is one that has had fans and the Meyiwa family frustrated as to the lengthy delay in bringing the perpetrators to book.
Several leads have come up, but none have resulted in a successful conviction and now a new report in City Press alleges that an alleged hitman responsible for killing the beloved soccer figure, has alleged that Kelly is responsible for the hit on the soccer player.
