Lerato Kganyago Is Not Bothered By The Lack Of Likes And Retweets

South African media personality, Lerato Kganyago, is known for her love-hate relationship with social media. The television host and DJ is constantly making her accounts private, and making it public a few days later. Earlier this week, Lerato shared an import message about human trafficking, as an attempt to raise awareness to the social issue.

The Metro FM DJ took to Twitter earlier this week to share some advice and tips to women on how to stay safe. She also expressed her deep concerns as South Africa is on, according to her, the “Tier 2 Watch list” for human trafficking. She has also slammed the government for not doing anything to protect children who are trafficked daily.

Following her messages of awareness, fans began responding on social media, praising her for speaking out about the issue. However, the replies showed a significant margin in comparison to her 1.2 million Twitter followers. This led to a fan highlighting the issue, calling into question her lack of social media interaction. Lerato responded with, “Hahahahaha true!! Good thing i don’t make money from likes, retweets, or trends on Twitter!”. Lerato made a valid point, as the self-made millionaire continues to make bank in all of her respective business endeavours.

Aside from her comment to the tweep, Lerato continued to express her concerns for matters close to her heart, and lent her voice to the issues that continue to bother her now that the country has on the brink of entering into stage 1 of the lockdown.

She tweeted, “As the storm passes, grateful that we are moving to Level 1. But in my heart, I also worry that the easing will also make more women and children vulnerable to human trafficking.” The powerful message garnered a pitiful 73 retweets and 313 likes, give yet another example of the lack of interaction seen on her page.
