Thando Thabethe To Star In Netflix Film

After bowing out from Housekeepers and nailing her role as Linda Ndlovu, Thando Thebethe is proud to inform her fans that they should not despair as she will still be gracing the screens and this time joining the Netflix family.

Thando, who will play Beauty Sello joins a handful of our local stars who have starred in African original films on the Netflix platform and has expressed her excitement. The latest African film How To Ruin Christmas: The Wedding is a three-episode-series holiday special that will feature an abundance of our local stars alongside Thando, whose wedding is ruined by her rebel sister.

The mini-series features an entirely South African cast, namely Clementine Mosimane as Dineo Sello, Yonda Thomas as Khaya Manqele, Sandile Mahlangu as Sbu Twala, Motlatsi Mafatshe as Themba Twala, Saint Seseli as Vusi Twala, Charmaine Mtinta as Valencia Twala, Rami Chuene as Aunt Grace, Trevor Gumbi as Siya Twala, Nandi Nyembe as Gogo Twala, Desmond Dube as Uncle Shadrack, Busisiwe Lurayi stars as Tumi Sello and Keketso Semoko as Aunt Moipone.

This film as described by Netflix, shows the dysfunctional family, whilst exploring the classism that exists amongst black people which causes tension.

Leader of the African Original Series at Netflix, Dorothy Ghettuba spoke highly of the cast and how Netflix continues to invest in Africa’s talent said, “Christmas is a time to have fun, kick back and enjoy some holiday cheer. We are excited to bring to our viewers this truly South African Christmas Special. We hope to bring our local and global viewers laughter, joy and spur them into the spirit of Dezemba!”

Thando Thebethe has grown to be loved on screens as her supporters applaud her stellar performances. Bowing out from the latest season of Housekeepers, Thando wrote, “I am grateful for the honor of being able to play Linda Ndlovu once more…how this character has changed not only my approach in current work but in life in general, cannot be expressed in words. I have hurt, and I have healed…this was above me. This was a spiritual awakening…I am forever grateful!!!
